In Yalong Bay there are many expensive hotels that you can pick from. I chose to stay in an apartment instead, and here is what it looks like:
When you get there, someone picks up your luggage and helps you to check in. They give you a detailed guide of what to do in the area and local food to try out. Then they take you to your apartment. I had one on the 4th / 5th floor. There is an elevator.

- a bedroom with a king sized bed
- a balcony / room with another small sofa
- a bathroom with a shower and toilet paper

It has LOTS of storage space. The bedroom and the balcony both have a view of the freeform pool surrounded by palm trees and other lush greenery.
Around the pool, there are several lounge chairs, a swing seat, benches, so you’ll find your perfect place to relax, read a book or chat in a shaded corner.

Staff
There is a man and a woman who speaks English. If you have a question they will try to help you out. I was really pleased with the service.
Location
This apartment complex is a 15 min walk to the beach, and there are 2 malls on the way. You can easily walk from the hotel to the beach, and stop in between for lunch or dinner. The road is mostly okay, I’ve seen many families walking around, but you can also get a taxi as the place is easily accessible on the main road to the beach.
Where to eat
I liked a Thai restaurant where I had Tom Yum soup, a papaya salad and a watermelon juice but I am sure there are more that are just waiting to be discovered!
And of course Hey Tea which never disappoints!
